A new office at the heart of Espace Montmorency for ACT actuaries

ACT actuaries has tasked Syscomax with the creation of its new offices in Laval, in Espace Montmorency, marking the beginning of their collaboration together. The main objective of the project was to provide teams situated near Montreal with a centralized workspace, strategically located near the Montmorency metro station. The work has been carried out between September 2025 and February 2026.

The 12,000-square-foot project includes a distinctive reception area, a welcoming cafeteria, conference and collaboration rooms equipped with high-performance audiovisual systems, and an outdoor terrace. As acoustics were a priority for the client, office spaces has been closed off in order to create a private and peaceful environment. The new design also featured specialty material such as 12 mm acoustic glass and double-glazed partitions.

The project’s design was handled by Nathalie King of NK Design, in partnership with architect Jean-François Dupuis. Drawing on their previous experiences working with ACT actuaries, the design team was able to develop a concept that is perfectly aligned with the firm’s brand image. Colourful and dynamic, the visual design takes its cue directly from the logo’s colours while delivering a professional, balanced and timeless feel. Staff enjoy a daily environment that makes working a pleasure.

Every detail of the project has been carefully thought through to seamlessly adapt to the constraints of the existing building and minimize the impact of the work on the tower's other occupants. The transportation of materials has also been planned to avoid disrupting the building’s daily activities.

Materials were selected for their sustainability and eco-friendliness. The project incorporates components that meet LEED standards, such as occupancy-sensing lighting fixtures, low-flow plumbing and finishing materials such as wood and flooring. Furniture and equipment were carefully selected to maximize comfort, efficiency and visual harmony throughout the space.

Designed to support ACT actuaries’ vision and future ambitions, this office project signals the beginning of a new chapter for the firm and its staff.
