A business that has been established for several years in St-Jérôme, DekHockey opened a brand new complex on October 31st in St-Eustache. This new recreational building benefited from the expertise and creativity of Syscomax in the design and construction of the 2nd branch. Once again, the company has successfully met the requirements of its client, setting a new standard in the field of ball hockey installations with this second complex.
In building this new complex, DekHockey owners hoped to shape the market with contemporary, quality facilities and a modern environment, both on the court and in areas designed for spectators. With this goal in mind, Syscomax developed an elevated, central bar and restaurant area that provides a clear view of interior as well as exterior rinks, thanks to a top-to-bottom glass facade. For groups or for events, a spectator box was built into the mezzanine of the 2nd floor, allowing users to watch both indoor courts.
For the summer season, the two outdoor courts are surrounded by raised platforms and stands that provide an elevated view. A terrace, on which meals and beverages will be provided, was also included next to the courts to create a comfortable and friendly space that will ensure the happiness of ball hockey fans. The exterior layout was designed to accommodate 3 additional courts in the future.
This mandate represented an interesting challenge for Syscomax because it had to be completed in a record time of 20 weeks, in addition to being carried out during one of the busiest times in the construction industry, from May to October. The structure also features long spans in order to keep courts free of structural columns, which required special care from the Syscomax team.
This was a first collaboration for DekHockey and Syscomax and, given the quality of the project, it may not be the last!
