On this May 22, Syscomax proudly celebrates the 25-year career milestone of its President and Chief Executive Officer, Mélissa Robitaille, within the company.
Since joining Syscomax in 1999, Mélissa has played an active role in the company’s growth, helping build an organization recognized for its people-first approach, innovative mindset, and commitment to its employees, clients and community.
Professional Journey
Holding a degree in analytical chemistry, Mélissa joined Syscomax at the age of 19, within the company founded by her father, Sylvain Robitaille. Driven by curiosity and a desire to understand every aspect of the business, she gained experience across several departments, including accounting, project execution and sales.
This hands-on experience allowed her to develop a deep understanding of operations, field realities and the unique challenges of the construction industry. Building on this expertise, she was appointed Assistant General Manager in 2012, then Co-President and General Manager in 2016. Since November 25, 2022, she has served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Syscomax.
Over the years, Mélissa has successfully guided the organization’s growth while remaining true to the values that have shaped Syscomax: proximity, integrity, excellence and a forward-looking vision.

A pragmatic and inspiring leader, Mélissa places people at the heart of her leadership philosophy. Convinced that long-term success depends first and foremost on the strength of an engaged team, she actively contributes to evolving management practices and fostering a stimulating, collaborative and inclusive work environment, helping strengthen Syscomax’s reputation and influence across the industry.
In a sector where women are still underrepresented, Mélissa has earned her place through authenticity, credibility and determination, becoming an inspiring figure both within the company and among business partners.
Professional Involvement and Industry Influence
Beyond her role at Syscomax, Mélissa is actively involved in advancing and promoting the construction industry.
A long-standing member of the Quebec General Contractors Corporation (CEGQ), she served as Chair of the Board of Directors from 2020 to 2024, helping advance industry discussions and support entrepreneurs through knowledge sharing, collaboration and the development of best practices.
Her involvement with YPO (Young Presidents’ Organization), a global network of chief executives and business leaders, also reflects her ongoing commitment to learning, challenging perspectives and exchanging ideas with leaders who share a common ambition for growth and continuous improvement.
Through these commitments, Mélissa contributes not only to the evolution of Syscomax, but also to the advancement of the industry as a whole, guided by the belief that progress is built collectively.
Social Commitment and Community Involvement
For Mélissa, building extends far beyond construction projects. She firmly believes that companies have a responsibility to make a positive contribution to their communities and create a lasting impact.
Over the years, this vision has translated into sustained support for several causes aligned with Syscomax’s values. Under her leadership, the company has actively supported organizations such as the Fondation de l’Hôpital régional de Saint-Jérôme, Moisson Laurentides, Pallia-Vie, SLA Québec and Make-A-Wish Québec.
Driven by a desire to innovate environmentally as well, Mélissa launched an urban beekeeping initiative in partnership with Alvéole in 2019, installing beehives at the Syscomax Tower site. This initiative reflects her commitment to biodiversity preservation and to raising awareness among teams about the importance of protecting ecosystems.
Philanthropy at Syscomax has always been driven by collective engagement, bringing together employees, families, clients and business partners around a shared desire to give back to the community — an approach deeply rooted in Mélissa’s values and one she continuously brings to life through each initiative.

After 25 years of dedication, Mélissa continues to move Syscomax forward with the same passion that has driven her since day one. Her journey reflects a leadership style grounded in vision, commitment and people-centered values — principles that will continue to guide the company for years to come.
