Syscomax employees recently took part in two great events to help beat ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis): ALS Quebec Ride in Valleyfield on August 17 and 18, and the Walk to End ALS in Sainte-Adèle on September 7.
ALS Québec Ride
Despite rainy weather forecast, a handful of Syscomax cyclists covered hundreds of kilometers during the two-day event. Participants enjoyed a well-organized course with plenty of rehydration and break stations along the way. They were also treated to a country-themed evening on Saturday to end the day on a high note. The Syscomax team, representing Valérie Delorme who suffers from this neurodegenerative disease, donated a total of $14,122 to the ALS Society of Quebec. Overall, the ALS Quebec Ride fundraiser netted the foundation $300,370.
Walk to End ALS
On September 7 in Sainte-Adèle, nearly 400 participants showed up to walk the trails of Doncaster River Park on behalf of people with ALS. A 20-strong Syscomax team, made up of employees and family members, represented Valérie Delorme once again. The event allowed the ALS Society of Quebec foundation to raise $58,806, of which $35,060 was raised by Syscomax participants.
Thanks from the bottom of our heart
All donations raised through the two events will be used for research and to support families living with an ALS diagnosis. We would also like to take this opportunity to warmly thank all the donors who encouraged our cyclists and walkers through their generous support!
The cause, which is fully in line with the company’s values, is particularly dear to Syscomax, since several of its employees are closely impacted by ALS. We are proud to have put on our cycling and walking shoes for ALS Society of Quebec and to continue to demonstrate our commitment to our community!
