Syscomax is proud to announce the construction of a major project in the heart of the Laurentians: the Centre de jour Pallia-Vie, a day facility entirely dedicated to palliative care. This new 4,600-square-foot building will be attached to the existing care home, which has been a fixture in the Saint-Jérôme landscape since 2006. Syscomax is serving as the project’s general contractor, overseeing the design and construction of this key community facility.
Combining modernity and warmth, the Diane Richer Guénette Pavillion, In Memoriam, Guénette Family Foundation will feature a flat roof and metal cladding for a more contemporary style, with wood and brick establishing a visual link to the existing building. Functionality and the well-being of occupants guided every aspect of the design process. Close attention was paid to the acoustics in order to create a calm, soothing environment conducive to relaxation and renewal.
It will be the first day centre specializing in palliative care in the Laurentian region. Pallia-Vie hopes to transform the standard narrow perception of palliative care as a service reserved for the final moments of life. Through early intervention and multidisciplinary care, the organization aims to offer compassionate, humane and comprehensive support that promotes the well-being of patients and their loved ones. The centre will provide a wide range of physical, psychological, social and spiritual services, free of charge, in an environment designed to ensure comfort and dignity.
To bring this vision to life, Syscomax has assembled a team of experienced partners: Z&D Architects for the architecture, Triade Design for the interior design, Équipe Laurence for the civil engineering and the firm Solid for the structural engineering.
Many local businesses, including Syscomax, also came together to make the construction of the day centre possible by generously donating their time, expertise and the materials required for the project.
True to its values, Syscomax is putting its expertise to work on a deeply human and important project for the community. This new centre will provide residents of the Laurentians with a unique place of support, embodying the values of compassion, attentiveness and respect that have long been at the heart of the Pallia-Vie experience.
