In business for more than 150 years, the family-run business Cidrerie Lacroix wanted to make its current site a friendly and gastronomic place, and also to increase its autonomy in its operations. The goal of the 2,915 sq. ft. expansion was to facilitate the fermentation and bottling of the cider on-site and allow the company to offer a brand-new gastronomic experience featuring products from the orchard and the Lower Laurentians region.
Part of the existing building was demolished to build a new state-of-the-art kitchen as well as a modern dining room distinguished by greenery, a cathedral ceiling and imposing windows that frame breathtaking views of the orchard. The 5-month work also included the construction of a shop and the redevelopment of administrative offices.
The Scandinavian-style architectural concept with its clean lines and light colours maintains an approachable, cozy and Quebecois ambience through the use of natural materials. The building’s facade gives a country barn look, yet has a distinct modern attitude with its abundant windows and black metal cladding.
The Syscomax team is proud to have completed the expansion of Cidrerie Lacroix, which now offers an immersive experience in a universe where fruit production, food processing and the culinary experience exist in a single ecosystem.
Pictures of the interior building will be available soon, so be sure to check back.
